Air Miles Deals Update

Sorry for the delay in any updates, I was away on holidays the past two weeks. I did update before leaving on Pharma Plus' Two Week Mega Air Miles Extravaganza. That concludes TONIGHT so be sure to stop in to get your bonuses on all your Christmas shopping (60 bonus miles on select perfumes, 25 on select razors) or personal needs. The new Pharma Plus ad will be out tomorrow, so look for an update on that to follow.

As for Metro, they seem to be in hibernation mode for the Winter as far as Air Miles deals go. This weeks flyer (starts tomorrow) has no real noticeable Air Miles deals, in fact it hashes out only a few and they are all repeats of deals offered in October.

Since it is a tough week for shopping, just a reminder that the Air Miles for Everyone event is wrapping up... you can get 3/4 bonus air miles each fill up at Shell, and with the gas price coming down, it is a good way to snag a few more miles. You can get 5 air miles for logging into the air miles for everyone site (first time only), and you can get 50 bonus air miles for using 3 different coupons from that site, and 35 bonus air miles for shopping at 2 different online stores through airmilesshops so be sure to take advantage of those bonuses while you can.

Lastly, if your business or family are planning on eating out, Boston Pizza is a great place to enjoy delicious food in a great party atmosphere. Put all your table bill on your air miles card to earn extra air miles as well.

Pharma Plus Announces Mega Miles Weeks

Two weeks of Mega Miles is underway at Pharma Plus! It begins today and runs for two weeks. Their entire flyer features bonus Air Miles Items, for 16 TOTAL PAGES!

The deals range from bonus air miles as low as 3 to as high as 120.

Today and tomorrow only, you can earn 10 times the air miles at Pharma Plus with a minimum $50 dollar purchase! That means 50 spent gets you 50 air miles.

They are also having a huge coupon promotion week in their flyer, so you can save lots of money while there. The best airmile bonus deal this week sees you get 10 airmiles for buying 3 hallmark cards (excluding dollar cards).

With Christmas just around the corner, buy all your cards there to earn lots of airmiles and 50 for $50 spent.

Grocery Deal for Aeroplan Collectors

I don't usually do this, but I noticed a deal for Aeroplan Miles collectors that may be worth while. Club Sobey's is a program offered by Sobey's whereby you get points for shopping. Bonus points are frequently available, but most are all of the same value. To convert to Aeroplan miles, you lose half your club sobey's points (50 Pts = 25 aeroplan miles).

I did however happen to be shopping in Sobey's and noticed that a product I love to buy was on sale. Campbell's tins of Cream of Celery, Cream of Broccolli, Chicken Broths and other canned soups were on for 99 cents. A good deal on these brands, since they seldom come on sale like their cheaper Campbell's counter parts (Tomato/Chicken Noodle/Cream of Mushroom and Vegetable). But to make this deal worth posting here, was two things. First, 10 Club Sobeys points (5 aeroplan miles) for 2 purchased. Second, the store I was in (and I am betting almost all others) had COUPON BOOKS in front of their DISPLAY. It was not on the shelf, not mentioned in the flyer, but these books had $1 off coupons on purchase of 2 of these select soups. So if you bought 2 of these better Campbells small tin soups, you paid 98 cents for both cans and got 5 aeroplan miles for 98 cents! This is the best Aeroplan promotion for price I have seen so far, and I believe (thought I am not an avid Aeroplan man) that this price of under 20 cents an aeroplan mile is cheaper then buying them direct from Air Canada. So you get them cheaper, and free soup :) Again this requires the coupons, so if your Sobey's is out then it may not be worth it. But mine had multiple coupons left, so I bought 20 cans of soup, paid $9.80 (NO TAX ON SOUPS!) and earned 100 CLUB SOBEY's POINTS for 50 AEROPLAN MILES! Also with Quaker promtions, you can get 25 bonus AEROPLAN miles on select boxes, so always keep your eyes out for deals on them in any store.

Just got in from Pharma Plus and decided to report a few bonus offers there. I just received 145 Air Miles there today rather easily. Interested?

The usual Air Miles at Pharma Plus is 1 for every $10 spent. With today's promotion, you spend 50 before tax and you will get 50 air miles! That is before any bonus Air Miles which you can easily get by spending that 50 on selected offers available in store.

Pharma Plus offers some groceries. I noticed a good price (not great but good) on 8 pack Super Jumbo Cashmere Bathroom tissue at $4.49 a package. The packages are your choice of 8 super strong super jumbo rolls, or 8 super soft super jumbo rolls. Also they are advertising 6 roll Bounty Paper towels at $5.99. Both are good sales, not great but better then regular prices at the discount grocery stores. There are actually a multitude of Proctor and Gamble products to chose from but the idea is this... spend $20 before taxes on these items and earn 25 bonus air miles. Trust me when I say, there are lots of items to chose from (around 30) and it is all stuff we need and use.

I bought 40 dollars (40.73) before taxes worth of the procter and gamble items (detergent, bathroom tissue, fabric softener sheets, dish soap, febreeze and paper towels) to secure 50 BONUS AIR MILES. Then I spent the remaining $7.99 on Ensure 6 pack meal replacement for 20 BONUS AIR MILES. Never having tried it, I am not sure how good it is but I was game to try. I finally bought 2 Lindt Chocolate bars for $5 to earn 5 more Bonus Air Miles. Add my coupon for 20 air miles.

In total, I earned 145 Air Miles (50 for $50 spent, 50 for P&G promotion, 20 for Ensure promotion, 20 for Air Miles for everyone promotion, 5 for Lindt promotion) all for 53.72 before tax.

Not a bad promotion! If I wanted to be really specific on details, since I had used my other coupons I had earned 50 more Air Miles using this my third Air Miles For Everyone coupon and 5 for loggin into the site to print the coupon, thus giving me 200 TOTAL AIR MILES TODAY from this Pharma Plus Visit!

If you are on a diet, or use Ensure already, this deal is even better to stock up on your favourite ensure drinks. AT 20 bonus Air Miles for 7.99, you can buy 7 of the 6 packs, to stockpile 43 meal replacements. You also will get mad Air Miles. You get the 50 for spending $50, plus you get 140 for the drinks and 20 for your coupon, making 210 Air Miles for spending 55.93 before taxes.

Other options at Pharma Plus to max your Air Miles include 10 Air Miles for $10 spend on AirWick products, 10 Air Miles for purchasing 4 Juicy Fruit/Excel Gum Bottles ($12 for 4), Nicoderm products earn 10 air miles per purchase, 2 assorted stomach remedies will get you 10 air miles (Gas-x, malox, etc) or finally 10 air miles for buying 2 of selected Tylenol, Benylin, Sudafed, Motrin, Sinutab or Imodium products.

Air Miles Deals at Metro (Oct. 24th til Oct. 30th)

This is the first of what will (hopefully) be a regular weekly article easy to locate on my blog and select. For all you AIR MILES collectors, I will summarize the best deals I find in the Metro Ads here.

For our first week, we have a few big deals.

Metro is running their Air Miles Super Bonus Weeks (started last week). That means there are a few select offers with larger bonuses.

Regular air miles earned are 1 on 20 dollars spent. So to see bonuses of 20 air miles for buying a couple of items means adding air miles a lot faster (unless you like to spend 400 dollars to just get 20 regular air miles!)

Each weeks report will break down this way... I will list all bonus air miles deals in the flyer. They will be sorted by most miles to least. Please note that the most miles aren't always the best deal, so where the flyer provides a price I will include how many air miles you actually get for your dollar spent. This coupon can also count towards the promotion Air Miles For Everyone is offering, where if you USE 3 DIFFERENT COUPONS, YOU GET 50 BONUS AIR MILES. SO this visit could be worth a lot more to you then just the deals in store.

WELCOME TO MYSTERY GROCER!

Welcome avid Air Miles collectors in Ontario!

Each week I will endeavour to report on some of the best deals available in conjunction with AIR MILES as it relates to Retail Grocery Stores. Here you will find out the best ways to grow your points! In Ontario unfortunately, air miles are much harder to accumulate then out west. In large part that is due to Safeway stores in the Western provinces that offer amazing deals frequently for bonus air miles.

That said, we have our own providers that offer some opportunities to gain air miles in bonus transactions, albeit in lesser deals.

Please be patient, some weeks will be more hectic then others so these reports may not be updated as frequently as I would like. Still check in at least once a week to ensure you don't miss out.

To start, Metro stores (formerly A&P, Barn, etc etc) are the only grocery store in Ontario offering Air Miles. For safeway deals (Air Miles stores out west) please visit http://www.bestairmiledeals.com/

Metro ads start Friday and run til Thursday close. So be sure to check in at least once in that span to not miss on any ad.
