Air Miles Deals at Metro (Oct. 24th til Oct. 30th)

This is the first of what will (hopefully) be a regular weekly article easy to locate on my blog and select. For all you AIR MILES collectors, I will summarize the best deals I find in the Metro Ads here.

For our first week, we have a few big deals.

Metro is running their Air Miles Super Bonus Weeks (started last week). That means there are a few select offers with larger bonuses.

Regular air miles earned are 1 on 20 dollars spent. So to see bonuses of 20 air miles for buying a couple of items means adding air miles a lot faster (unless you like to spend 400 dollars to just get 20 regular air miles!)

Each weeks report will break down this way... I will list all bonus air miles deals in the flyer. They will be sorted by most miles to least. Please note that the most miles aren't always the best deal, so where the flyer provides a price I will include how many air miles you actually get for your dollar spent. If you see anything I missed, feel free to email me at gforce@mountaincable.net to have me add it and let us all in on a deal!

If I find a deal not in the flyer, as in occassional in store features or something extra not mentioned to a flyer deal, I will add it at the bottom under NOTES.

So here is your week one list.

30 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 Cashmere Bathroom Tissue (24s or double 12's) or Scott's Sponge Towels (6 pack or 4 double rolls). $6.99 each or $13.98 for the 2. That is 47 cents per air mile or 2.15 Bonus Air Miles per dollar spent.

20 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 1 Schneider's Boxed Frozen Chicken Breast. $8.99 per box, so 45 cents per air mile or 2.23 Bonus Air Miles per your dollar spent.

20 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 3 selected Dove Hygiene and Styling Products. This does include Dove Bar Soap, which MAY be the cheapest product though prices are not listed.

20 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 5 Campbell's V8 Soups or Cooking Sauces. Price not stated.

20 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 5 Campbell's Soups, Goldfish Crackers, V8 Juice or Prego Sauces. 5 items for $10, so 50 cents an air mile meaning 2 Bonus Air Miles for your dollar spent.

15 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 4 Sun-Rype Juices. Price not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 1 selected bag Splenda. Price not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 1 selected Listerine Mouth Wash. Price not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 Smart Ones Frozen Entrees. Price not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 bags of Terra Chips. Price not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 Heinz Ketchup 1 L bottles. Price not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 Coke 12 pack cans. Price not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 Powerade Sports Drink 6 pack bottles. Price not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 selected Feminine Care products (Always Pads/Liners, Tampax Tampons) or Disposable Razors (Venus 3's, Good News 5's or 12's, Sensor 3's, Custom Plus 5's or 12's). Prices vary and not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 3 either Colgate Toothpastes or Soft Soap hand soaps. Prices not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 3 Fuze, Rockstar or Full Throttle engergy drinks. Prices not stated.

10 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 4 Lipton Sidekicks. Prices not stated.

5 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 5 Meow Mix Can Wet Cat Food. Price not stated.

5 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 Heinz Baby Cereal. Price not stated.

5 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 1 MC Frozen Rack of Ribs. Price not stated.

5 BONUS AIR MILES with purchase of 2 Traditionally Raised Whole Chickens (meat department). Price not stated.

So not knowing the prices, the best deals likely are the Schneider's boxed chicken, with possibly depending on the prices, the Dove Soaps deal or Colgate Toothpaste deal.

Has anyone else noticed Metro's Bonus Air Miles Weeks fall far short of what A&P used to do with their Bonus Air Miles Weeks? Feel free to send comments or suggestions to me via email, or publicly respond on here.

WHILE YOU ARE AT YOUR LOCAL METRO STORE, Don't forget to take along your Air Miles for Everyone Coupon Booklet. Good way to get bonus Air Miles and get closer to more Bonus Air Miles.

If you spend 50 or 100 dollars at Metro, you get bonus Air Miles. However the coupon I found more useful, purchasing a couple Irressistable products (their private label, you have free choice of their entire line) you earn bonus air miles (more for more items purchased). This coupon can also count towards the promotion Air Miles For Everyone is offering, where if you USE 3 DIFFERENT COUPONS, YOU GET 50 BONUS AIR MILES. SO this visit could be worth a lot more to you then just the deals in store.

Thanks,

Mystery Grocer
